A blow to the head

Went round friends for dinner on Saturday. They live 5 minutes walk from us. Went out around 10:30 to get some more wine. Was quite drunk - the 4 of us had gone through a few bottles of wine, a pile of beers, and a bottle of tequila...anyway, me and my fiances friends boyfriend were walking and chatting and these 2 guys came running down the road.

As they passed us one of them stopped and just smacked me in the ear. It knocked my head to one side so that my glasses came off, and I was in shock for a few seconds. Just didn't see it coming. You know how you sometimes get that 'sense' that someones going to kick off? Didn't happen. I was a bit too drunk I think.

They carried on running. We went to the Co-Op and a police car was parked outside with a guy who had a broken nose and his hysterical girlfriend. Speaking to the woman and the police it sounds like the same guys who hit me had done over this other bloke. He was proper messed up though, and the police - having got a matching description from us - went after these two blokes.

Thing is, my ear has been swollen since and ringing badly. Doctor has advised not putting too much stress on the ear in case the eardrum has been perforated. Great.
Thanks, you twat, whoever you are.

LMT - how awful!! When you say "not putting too much stress on the ear" what does that mean? And will it affect future gigging? Hope not - Kim and I enjoyed the last road trip alot!

Cheers chap and chap-esses. It's actually back to normal today. By resting it the doctor meant not to listen to loud stuff, basically. So I missed Autons practice on Monday. But it all looks OK now. Abbie: I tried not to say directly that it was right by the new house, but indeed it was. A very rare event, though.

What a twat. Anyone who interferes with your musical career needs to be shot.
